Guide Lists Villanova Among "Most Interesting" Colleges
By James Borden

Villanova University was honored in a recent book published by Kaplan Inc. and titled The Unofficial, Unbiased, Insider's Guide to the 320 Most Interesting Colleges.  In the book, Villanova is listed as a top school in the category of best value for your tuition dollar. In addition, Villanova was also selected as one of the 320 most interesting colleges, earning it a detailed, two page profile.

Kaplan used the national market research firm Market Measurement, to obtain information and trends about colleges across the nation. Market Measurement utilized a random sample of U.S. public, private and Catholic high schools obtained from Dun & Bradstreet.

In addition to containing the survey results, the book features a variety of information, including student observations about the academic and social life at the 320 most interesting colleges of 2002-2003 and input from two of the country's leading authorities on college admissions.  Authors Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili monitored the 2001-2002 college admissions cycle to help determine trends on college campuses - which schools have changed for the better, which for the worse; which schools are overrated, which are underrated; where a competitive student might excel, where a B student might shine.

The book noted that Villanova students tend to be extremely driven and career oriented. Said one of the authors about the school, "Villanova is a smart choice for students who are intellectually ambitious and socially aware. (And basketball fans!)"
