New Villanova Credit Card Program to benefit Alumni and athletic programs

Thanks to an exciting strategic partnership with MBNA America Bank, N.A., alumni, parents, friends and other supporters will soon be able to obtain a Villanova University credit card depicting a campus scene or the Villanova Wildcat. The program, which will be co-sponsored by the Villanova Alumni Association and the Department of Athletics, will help to support a variety of programs, including Alumni Reunion Weekend, Homecoming, student scholarships, the PAWS life skills program for student athletes and athletic facility improvements. With each use of the card Villanova alumni, friends and others will be helping to support these University programs

Commenting on the new program, Director of Athletics Vince Nicastro stated, "We have a great opportunity to advance many initiatives which will directly impact our student athletes through this new affinity program with MBNA." Henry F. Acchione ’66 president of the Villanova Alumni Association stated, "This program will provide our alumni and other Villanova supporters with a great way to show their Villanova pride and spirit and will allow us continue to expand programs offered by the Alumni Association."

MBNA America is the largest independent credit card lender in the world and sponsors similar programs at many of the top universities in the nation. Gary R. Olsen ‘74 executive director of the Alumni Association and assistant vice president for Alumni Affairs stated, "We are thrilled to develop this relationship with MBNA America. We are confident that our alumni will receive a product that exceeds our high quality standards and helps to support the many programs we sponsor for alumni."
