Leaders in the field of business and progress,
Villanova University Executive MBA Program and the Philadelphia
Business Journal presented an inaugural e-commerce summit to convey
crucial strategies necessary to thrive in today’s highly competitive
inter-business e-commerce. The 2000 Tech Summit, held Oct. 3 in the
Villanova Room of Connelly Center from 7:15 a.m. to noon, invited
participants into the e-world of cutting-edge trends, revealed directly
from the industry’s pioneers. Among the attendees were 200 of the
region’s leading decision makers from small to mid-sized companies who
are initializing a web presence, as well as those striving to transform
their established web business into a thriving marketplace.
Among the featured presenters at the summit was
Harry Wallaesa, president of Safeguard Scientifics. Wallaesa gave a
keynote address on "Enabling the Digital Economy." Also a
keynote presenter was Alf Nucifora, of Nucifora Consulting and author of
the "Shoestring Marketing" column, whose address was titled
"Guerilla Marketing: Techniques for Small Business Survival."
Another noteworthy presence was Barbara Levin, director of Usability at
sn.com. A leading Internet professional services firm, sn.com was
co-founded by John E. Deneen, CEO and graduate of theVillanova
University School of Law. Deneen will be the featured speaker at the
upcoming "Entrepreneur’s Edge," a presentation promising a
panel of innovators from the areas of marketing, consulting, human
resources, publishing and engineering. Look for more information about
this "entre-forum," which will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15 in
the Connelly Center.
The 2000 Tech Summit was the first attempt of
its kind and proved to be a success. As a precursor to the Graduate Day
Information Fair, the summit set the floor for an enthusiastic approach
to an ever-changing world of e-commerce, the World Wide Web and digital
marketing.
