Ron Diment named director of Conference Services

For the past year, Villanova University has been researching the prospect of better using on-campus facilities and resources to provide affordable conference services to clients and on-campus groups. Recently, Ron Diment was appointed to the newly created position of director of Conference Services to coordinate the program.

The conference initiative will enable Villanova to generate revenue by allowing both external and campus organizations to use the University’s facilities, according to Diment. Although his job is year round, he is hoping to increase the usage of residence halls and food services during the quiet summer months by providing room and board, meeting space and event services to potential clients. Activities such as camps, training sessions and conventions are expected to be best-suited to the accommodations the program will offer.

Prior to arriving at Villanova, Diment was the director of Housing and Residence Life at La Salle University. With only six weeks to prepare for the peak summer season, he had to develop his staff, including hiring a conference services manager and two summer conference coordinators.
